Dom Greenwood - Head of Compliance, Quality & Safety Dom is currently Head of Compliance for the énergie Fitness Group who operate 100 fitness clubs across the UK, Ireland & Poland. Dom has been with énergie for 7 years and prior to this has been in the Leisure Industry for 23 years in a number of roles. To be able to communicate safety requirements to 100 fitness clubs and over 750 staff, Dom has to ensure that he creates and delivers clear messages to the right people at the right time which can be a fine art! Dom has a passion for training and provides Health, Safety & Fire Management, First Aid at Work and, soon to be included, Safeguarding training to his staff. Dom is part of several industry safety committees and believes that there is much to benefit from all within the industry coming together to share experiences and continuously improve standards. The delegate fortunate enough to be partnered with Dom will be able to see his passion for people and may even get to hear some of the latest releases from his new band Dead Reynolds.


Darren Hicks - Operations Director Darren is co-founder and Chair of the Leisure Expert Panel and works as a Safety & Risk Consultant to the Leisure & Hospitality industry.  He was also formerly the Operations Director at Chiltern Consulting. He has worked in operations, safety and risk management for over 20 years across public, private and higher educational organisations. Darren and the Leisure Expert Panel continue to promote the LEP core aim of bringing together key contributors and influencers within the sector to develop solutions to the actual risks facing leisure businesses. Darren has a passion for developing others; he has a keen eye for identifying people’s strengths and coaching them on their journey to making that their career focus. Darren’s mentoring has seen many of the staff who have worked for him go on to become senior Safety Managers within the industry. Darren engages those around him through his evident passion for practical safety management. Having Darren as a mentor will help the delegate identify and harness their personal key skills. It may also bring many an opportunity for an outdoor adventure, be it kayaking, climbing or mountain walking!

Vickie Forsyth  - Litigation Specialist Vickie is a senior litigator acting for high profile leisure and hospitality clients.  Vickie defends public, employers and product liability claims and specialises in complex large illness class-actions.  She provides critical advice, recommendations and solutions to her clients. Vickie regularly delivers legal workshops on key case law updates and guidance training on best practice processes to ensure compliance with legal requirements. Client’s see Vickie as an extension of their own team with her approachable personality and attitude. Kasia Lipinska - Client Relationship Manager – Global Corporate & Speciality  Kasia is an experienced insurance practitioner with 20 years of experience in underwriting and client & project management in the in the European and London Insurance Market, including Lloyds of London market. She speaks English, Polish and French and holds BA and MA in business economics. In her current role at Aviva as Client Relationship Manager, Kasia’s clients see her as a role model for her ability to be bold and forthright in finding unique solutions for them. Kasia’s passion for getting insight into her clients’ business help her clients understand how they can better protect their assets, balance sheet and most importantly their people. Kasia has the ability to ask the right questions of people to get them to self-reflect and she encourages those around her to believe in their own capabilities.  Kasia will inspire her delegate, helping them grow their confidence and it’s a guarantee that they will have fun along the way!

Jen Russell - Head of Risk Management Currently Head of Risk Management at The Ambassador Theatre Group; Jen has worked for over 11 years in the Leisure industry across a variety of safety and operational roles. Her previous role was the Head of Safety for Virgin Active where she managed Primary Authority Partnerships for H&S, Food and Fire and coordinated the company’s insurance programme. Jen has the ability to put those around her at ease which allows open conversations about risk issues and promotes working collaboratively to find practical solutions. Jen always ensures she keeps in touch with what it is like for those leading in front line positions as she believes that ultimately, it is here where control measures really come alive. Jen has a positive effect on those around her, making them want to be the best they can be. Jen’s warm, engaging and genuine character will ensure that her delegate feels immediately comfortable and supported on their journey through the programme.

Toby Thorp - Environmental Health Officer Toby is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner working at the City of London Corporation since 2007 and as such Toby has to interact with a wide range of businesses within the City, understanding how best to engage and guide them on their individual journeys to Health and Safety compliance. Toby has the ability to think pragmatically about solutions to the risks he identifies which means that he attracts more engagement from the businesses he works with. Toby works as a Primary Authority for several large organisations where he builds strong relationships with them so can understand the businesses perspective. Feedback for Toby regularly includes that he is one of the most personable and knowledgeable EHO’s that businesses have worked with. Toby also has experience of writing national health and safety guidance and is involved with several panels. Any delegate can benefit greatly from having Toby as a mentor and if they’re lucky he may share some of his amateur dramatics’ skills with them too!
